We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of**_ _**_IBM Z Technical Specialist - Mainframe Storage Engineer_**- The _**_IBM Z Technical Specialist_**_ will work with the IBM mainframe team to install, customize, and maintain the IBM Z Storage environment, which encompasses DASD, Tape and SanFabric._ _This role will support the HSBC Technology team, which has received extensive investments and will continue to undergo rapid expansion throughout 2027 and beyond._**Principal Accountabilities**- _Experience working on several large complex projects in an architectural role designing and implementing technical solutions to commercial problems._- _Excellent problem determination skills and the ability to detect and control any processing anomalies or system errors._- _Excellent written and spoken communication skills, particularly when conveying complex information, and the ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust._- _Banking / Finance background would be beneficial_- _Manage system performance, reliability and availability to service level agreements._- _Develop, manage and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery plan for all managed systems._- _Design rollouts of system enhancements and upgrades._- _Create standards for supported systems _- _Automate processes using VMWare Automation tools _- _Create documentation and SOP's _- _Provide Operations Support_- _Interaction with Service Center, Network Control Center and other business support areas for problem escalations, resolutions, reporting and coordination._Requirements**_Requirements_**- _Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred._- _8-12 years of relevant work experience._- _Hands on experience in a GDPS, Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, HiperSwap environment._- _Thorough knowledge and expertise with HCD in a large scale enterprise environment with numerous CECs across multiple locations_- _Knowledge of Brocade SAN equipment and associated management tools (Brocade Network Advisor)_- _Experience installing and configuring IBM Mainframes, Virtual Tape systems, and DS8000 DASD._- _Strong overall technical leadership skills_- _Additional Desired Skills:_- _REXX Programming skills_- _Knowledge of dataset structures. (PDS, PDSE, GDG, VSAM, etc.)_- _Experience Administering DFSMS policies and constructs_- _Knowledge and experience with IBM Flashcopy process_- _Knowledge of FDR/ABR and DFDSS_- _Experience with CA1 Tape Management Software_- _Experience with TDMF_- _Working knowledge and advanced understanding of automated tape libraries_- _Coding Languages: Assembler, Automation, GDPS, Rexx and CLIST skills _- _Proficiency in Security software tools: RACF and ACF2 and performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF and SAS_**Issued By HSBC Electronic Data Process Mexico Private LTD
