Bilingual Data and Insight Analyst

Overview The Data & Insight Analyst is responsible for architecting and developing best-in-class and innovative analytics and reporting solutions. This role will have responsibility for establishing and sustaining processes and practices that support Big Data, Analytics, and Reporting solutions and applications in an Open Source environment. The Data & Insight Analyst should have a passion for data, working with business people, and creating solutions and driving innovation with a keen interest in mentoring and elevating other technical resources. Will spend time working independently and as part of a team and will focus on specific deadlines in an Agile development process as defined by the management team. Responsibilities Architect and hands-on development of Analytics and Reporting solutions Implementing and configuring reporting technologies like Jasper Soft and Business Objects. Proficient with SQL for databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Architect, design, build and integrate solutions using Hadoop and other open source tools like: Pif, Hive, Python,Groovy, etc. Redesign existing reports fo enhanced utility and usability. Managing the day to day activities of the Insights Delivery Unit that's tasked with ad-hoc reporting from our Hadoop environment. Drive automation capabilities into reporting solutions. Establish credibility and strong working relationships with development teams to review design and code for adherence to established standards and best practices. Facilitate and communicate change across the team or organization to drive adoption. Evaluate critical information needed to understand problems, determin probable causes , and develops workable solutions. Accurately assess the costs, benefits, and risks associated with alternative courses of action and makes high quality and timely decisions. Deliver using an Agile development process. Maintain our repository and other relevant documentation. Actively promotes and participates in brainstorming sessions. Contribute to other open sources projects. Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting. Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Fully bilingual in English/Spanish(both written and verbal) Candidates must be commutable to our Mexico City office. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent 5+ years' experience in advanced analytics 3+ years as a consultant 3 -5 years' exprience in a data architecture role with deep understanding of architecture priniciples & best practices. Experience in analytics environments. Experience with multiple scripting languages (Groovy, Python, etc.) Experience with SQL syntax for multiple databases (e.g., standard SQL, Oracle, MY SQL, PostgreSQL). Experience in Agile Environment. Able to quickly learn new data centric technologies (e.g., Pig, Hive, HBase). Familiarity with data warehousing concepts. Consulting skills strong enough to work with clients on their reporting needs. Ability to present information and ideas in a thoughtful and compelling manner; is clear and concise in verbal and written communications. Ability to share information freely and speaks openly and honestly. Ability to understand the perspectives of others Able to set clear priorities, take action, stay focused, and overcome barriers to deliver expected results. Ability to see emerging patterns and opportunities, and adapt quickly and easily to new information, changing conditions or unexpected events. NOTE: All interviews will be in English. Base compensation ranges from $ 35,000/ pesos per month to $ 40,000/pesos per month.
