About the job:

Magic Media is seeking a Senior Gameplay Designer who can excel across game genres, platforms, and target audiences. This role requires the ability to lead game design, handling various design aspects. You'll be responsible for crafting thrilling games aligned with client visions, designing game mechanics, creating detailed documentation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced international environment. You'll also be involved in balancing, polishing, and coaching teammates on game design tasks.

Must have:
  • 5+ years of professional game design experience
  • Unreal Engine 5.3 experience
  • Experience designing locomotion, 3Cs and systems
  • FPS game design experience
  • Ability to create games across genres and audiences
  • Proficiency in creating Game Design Documentation
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with Art and Programming departments
  • Experience creating and tuning FTUE and game tutorials
  • Deep understanding of the free-to-play mobile market
  • Experience in game development from pre-production to release and LiveOps
  • Shipped multiple game titles as a Game Designer
Good to have:
  • Experience developing pitches
  • Unity game engine experience
  • Basic scripting skills
  • Experience developing for PC and console platforms

We work with leading developers and publishers within the games and tech industry, providing support and solutions designed around individual needs and carried out by global experts.

We are currently seeking a Gameplay Game Designer that can perform at a wide variety of game genres, platforms and target audiences and who is able to carry a project’s game design by handling most of the different game design fields. The person should be capable of working on multiple projects and cooperating with Producers, Customers, and other Stakeholders -internal and external- in a fast-paced international environment.

What you will do:
  • Ability to create thrilling games that fit our client’s vision and provide solutions that match industry standards.
  • Game theory and game mechanics design.
  • Create detailed documentation of the Game’s Design both for Clients and for developers.
  • Design game mechanics, systems, levels, and everything that the game may need.
  • Perform in-engine balancing, tweaking and polishing tasks related to game designs.
  • Experience designing Game Systems that efficiently achieve specific goals.
  • Ability to create effective and well-documented wireframes for UX/UI.
  • Adapt to pre-existing documentation standards and maintain said documentation.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team towards shared goals.
  • Estimate, prioritize and coordinate game design activities.
  • Coach teammates in game design tasks.
  • Communicate and cooperate with Customers and other Stakeholders.
  • Participate in different Design Department activities to collaborate and coordinate with fellow game designers.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Professional experience in game design: +5 years.
  • Unreal 5.3 experience.
  • Methodical Documenter with Feature Description experience.
  • Experience in designing locomotion, 3Cs and systems.
  • Experience with FPS games.
  • Ability to create games of a wide variety of game genres and for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Deep knowledge creating Game Design Documentation.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
  • Experienced working with Art and Programming departments.
  • Experience creating and tuning FTUE and game tutorials.
  • Deep up-to-date knowledge of the free-to-play market in mobile platforms.
  • Experience working on games from pre-production to release and LiveOps.
  • Shipped multiple game titles as Game Designer.
  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, capable of working autonomously and energetic.
Desirable Pluses:
  • Experience developing pitches.
  • Experience working with Unity game engine.
