Your ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, filing, updating, administrating and negotiating on a confidential basis the agreements required by all Magna Mexican Divisions. Provide legal advice in complex regulated matters, such as energy, customs, transportation, tax, among others, which might have legal implications for Magna’s operations.
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide all kinds of legal assistance to Magna Mexican Divisions, with special attention to matters related to procurement and supply chain. All of these functions will be performed in accordance with the applicable Mexican laws and regulations, the Magna policies and the directions of the Director of Legal Services-Mexico.
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal trainings to Magna’s Mexican Divisions and should be in regular communication with Magna International Inc., Group Legal Counsels, and some Magna Mexican Divisions executives and external attorneys to perform the activities described above.
The responsibilities of the Senior Legal Counsel should comply with the requirements of each of the projects assigned by the Legal Department.

- Skilled at effectively identifying and solving problems as well as providing assistance to Divisions.
- Have leadership skills and work under pressure.
- Should follow all Magna policies, especially the Magna Code of Conduct and Ethics.
- Meticulous, honest, reliable and capable of having business conversations in English.

Your preferred qualifications- Attorney at Law.
- At least 6 years of experience working in a corporate law firm or legal department.
- Experience in dealing with international commercial transactions is highly recommended.
- Experience in dealing with supply chain matters is highly valued.
- Experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements in English and Spanish.
- Experience and/or knowledge in the automobile industry is highly valued.
- Excellent computer skills, including with the necessary programs needed to perform the responsibilities described above.
- Skilled and familiar with the use of the General Law for Mercantile Companies, Commercial Code, Foreign Investment Law and other applicable Mexican laws and regulations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
