General Manager, Operations

**Description**:**The Role**Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Mexico, the General Manager, Operations, will lead safe and efficient operations at the Morelos Complex, primarily at Media Luna. You will oversee Mining, Plant, Maintenance, Technical Services, and Planning, driving integration, cost performance, and a strong safety culture to consistently meet or exceed production targets.**The Company**Torex Gold is an intermediate gold producer based in Canada, engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of its 100% owned Morelos Property, an area of 29,000 hectares in the highly prospective Guerrero Gold Belt located 180 kilometres southwest of Mexico City.The Company's principal asset is the Morelos Complex, which includes the El Limón Guajes ("ELG") Mine Complex, the Media Luna Mine, the EPO Project, a processing plant, and related infrastructure. When you join the Company, you become part of a high-performance team that commits to working together in good faith, listening to each other, and willingly giving our best every single day.**What We're Looking for**:**Education**- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.- A Master’s or Postgraduate Degree in Operations Management, Mining Management, Project Management, or Construction is strongly preferred.**Experienc**e**- Minimum of 15 years of progressive operational mining experience in Mexico or Latin America, including leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams across multiple site functions.- At least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role, such as Manager of Operations or Technical Services, with demonstrated success in delivering safe, cost-effective production.- Proven experience in developing and standardizing internal processes and systems to drive operational excellence.- Extensive background in medium- and long-term mine planning, resource management, and production forecasting.- Strong financial acumen with experience in strategic planning, budget management, and balancing operational costs with production goals.- Track record of implementing and sustaining a strong safety culture in line with industry best practices.- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, implement new corporate standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.**Skills**- Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams at all levels of the organization.- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.- Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use operational KPIs and dashboards to guide decisions.- Strong decision-making skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.**Responsibilities****Safety, Health, and Environment**- Creates a culture that values safety and compliance with the 4-Phase Safety System.- Monitors the implementation of the SafeStart program and addresses gaps and risks.- Oversees and monitors compliance with environmental laws and current environmental impact and land-use change authorizations.- Oversees and monitors the effective implementation and compliance with the International Cyanide Code.**Strategy and Financial Management**- Works with corporate departments to define and prioritize site strategic objectives.- Develops department objectives encompassing the Plant, Technical Services, Mines, Production Planning, and Process Improvement departments, ensuring overall outcomes of objectives support the achievement of the site’s overall strategic objectives.- Manages the overall timing and delivery of objectives within the Operations departments.- Manages financial implications of mining results by balancing finances between Plant, Technical Services, Mines, and Process Improvement departments.- Manages overall financial results by balancing finances between Plant, Technical Services, Mines, Maintenance, Production Planning, and Surface Operation departments- Makes prudent decisions regarding expenditures that effectively balance costs and impact overall financial results.**Operations and Resource Management**- Accountable for the management of the Morelos property’s operations and mine planning.- Accountable for the overall management and
