Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

We are looking for a talented **Senior Supplier Quality Engineer**to join the Global New Product Supplier Quality team at Atmus Filtration Technologies, S.L.P.**Job description**:This role is primarily focused on Supplier Quality for new APD (Automotive Product Development) projects.Responsible for Supplier Quality’s participation in the selection, management, development, problem solving, and assurance of defect-free performance of the direct material supplier chain. The objective of this work is to collaborate with the supplier and other resources at Atmus, leading the use of quality improvement tools and methods to achieve zero defects performance. This role also utilizes knowledge in manufacturing technology and product definition & function to achieve this outcome.**To be successful in this role, you will need the following**:**- Experience**:Minimum 5 years in a quality role in the automotive industry.**- Education**:Mechanical, industrial, chemical, or related engineering.**- English**:Advanced conversational**- Microsoft Office**:Intermediate-advanced**- Knowledge in**:- AIAG quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, SPC)- Problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis, fault tree analysis, etc.- Good understanding of automotive quality systems standards IATF 16949 and ISO 9001- Risk-based thinking- Familiarity with error-proofing in manufacturing processes- Quality auditing experience- Experience with stage-gate process for new product introduction- Project and schedule management**Skills**:- Effective communication- Responsibility- Helpful attitude- Teamwork- Conflict resolution**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways**:- Participates and / or leads Supplier Quality’s participation in the supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing and development processes.- Responsible for our most challenging supplier corrective action situations including containment, fault tree analysis / identification of assignable cause, root cause analysis, permanent corrective actions, and overall effectiveness of the problem-solving process.- Ensures suppliers select and use and adapt quality tools effectively for their industry and our requirements, especially the Advanced Product Quality Planning process.- Collaborates with and leads suppliers to understand and meet all product requirements including compliance with the Atmus Supplier Handbook.- Oversees the supplier quality resources for our most challenging new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.- Responsible for determining that all requirements are met by the supplier for our most challenging new or changed products and the execution of the Production Part Approval Processes and the Advanced Product Quality Planning processes, including elements of Early Supplier Engagement and Zero Defects Mentality.- Leads the measurement of supplier quality performance according to established procedures and is responsible to drive appropriate improvements to meet established targets.- Responsible to lead the continuous improvement activities with suppliers in their efforts to reduce defects.- Utilizes Atmus product functional and manufacturing technology knowledge in the execution of their role with suppliers, and represents their assigned suppliers’ technical processes and capabilities in internal technical discussions such as Drawing Quality Reviews, manufacturability reviews, etc.- Lead execution of Supplier Risk Assessment process for assigned programs & ensure supplier risk mitigation plans are adequate and meet project timing- Accountable to facilitate Zero Defect Mentality (ZDM) process execution from RFQ to implementation for selected components- Partner with purchasing and engineering to ensure new suppliers to APD don’t add risk to program- Accountable for supplier quality FIRG Issues and works with responsible category SQE to ensure implementation of robust corrective actions- Accountable for SQI participation in Drawing Quality Reviews and Designs Reviews- Accountable and responsible for facilitating Supplier Safe Launch at launch plant in partnership with plant quality leadership- Coordinates all waivers for parts not at required release level
