Purpose of Position.

Ensure optimal operation, safety, and maintenance of a facility's infrastructure, manage resources efficiently, comply with regulations.

Major responsibilities and tasks of the position. 

Facilities Management: Ensure the functioning and maintenance of the building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and plumbing equipment.

Preventative Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventative, predictive maintenance schedules for all systems and equipment to increase longevity and reliability.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility follows local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, fire safety, environmental standards, and accessibility.

Energy Efficiency: Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Budget Management: Develop and manage facility budgets, making recommendations for capital improvements and cost-saving strategies.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring systems are in place for dealing with emergencies, including natural disasters or power outages.

Vendor Management: Establish and manage relationships with vendors, overseeing contract negotiations and ensuring service level agreements are met.

Performance Metrics: Evaluate facilities' performance through analysis of data and metrics and provide reports to management.

Collaborating with other departments, such as operations, human resources, and safety, to ensure facilities support the organization's overall goals and objectives.

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements. 

Education.

Engineering degree or equivalent

Work Experience

Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience leading Facility or Maintenance department

Experience in large manufacturing operations

Knowledge of electrical substations, HVAC, hydraulic pumps, electrical motors, compressed air and reverse osmosis systems

LOTO Certification
