HMO Coverage for eligible locations Permanent work from home Immediate hiring Steady freelance job Job Overview We are seeking a senior-level Chief of Operations (COO) to take full ownership of day-to-day operations and implementation across our construction business. This is a C-suite leadership role designed for an A-player who can manage construction projects, lead teams, systemize operations, and execute strategic directives with minimal oversight. The ultimate goal of this role is to allow the owner to step away from daily operations. After onboarding, the COO will operate independently, with one weekly leadership meeting serving as the primary touchpoint. Job Highlights Schedule: 9:00am to 6:00pm CST Work Arrangement: Work from home Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process. Responsibilities Provide executive leadership across all construction operations and internal teams Manage and oversee multiple construction projects, crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders Translate high-level directives into clear execution plans without ongoing owner involvement Design, implement, and manage scalable workflows and operational systems Lead systemization initiatives to improve efficiency, accountability, and consistency Implement and manage construction management software (Contractor Foreman preferred) Build and maintain SOPs, documentation, and operational playbooks Implement workflow automations using tools such as Zapier; AI workflow implementation experience is a strong plus Act as the primary operational point of contact for clients, crews, subcontractors, and partners Oversee performance tracking, reporting, and continuous process improvement Partner with ownership to implement and manage the Structur Accelerator system Requirements C-suite or senior executive experience within construction organizations Extensive hands‑on experience managing construction projects and construction organizations Proven experience as a Project Manager on a minimum of 10 construction projects At least 5 years of experience managing construction organizations Strong working knowledge of construction management software (Contractor Foreman highly preferred) Bilingual: English and Spanish with minimal accent; must be confident coordinating via phone and email Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create SOPs from broad leadership direction Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly and lead without micromanagement Strong leadership presence, decision‑making skills, and operational ownership mindset Nice to have Proven experience implementing workflows and automations (Zapier required; AI implementation experience preferred) Working Relationship & Expectations Reports directly to the Owner Primary interaction with ownership will be one weekly leadership meeting Full authority to manage operations, execution, and internal alignment Expected to operate autonomously and proactively Systems & Tools Construction Management Software (Contractor Foreman preferred) Zapier and automation tools AI‑enabled workflow systems Structure Accelerator (implementation and ongoing management required) Reminder Apply directly to the link provided; you will be redirected to BruntWork’s Career Site.
