Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability. This role requires expertise in networking hardware and software, with hands‑on experience in Cisco and Meraki technologies for routing, switching, and wireless, as well as Palo Alto firewalls, load balancers, and network automation. Responsibilities Monitor network performance, ensure system availability and reliability, and optimize the network as necessary. Conduct regular network performance tests and prepare reports on network performance and incident response. Troubleshoot network issues and outages, and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences. Provide tactical design direction and recommendations for solution roadmaps. Collaborate with solution architecture and delivery teams to build and implement products for projects and improve existing products. Operationalize solutions through documentation, automation of common tasks, and process improvement. Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and by defining and monitoring access. Research and consult with resources and industry experts to ensure the effectiveness of provided solutions. Qualifications Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field; bachelor’s degree preferred. Approximately 3 years of experience in a technical role preferred. Proven experience with Cisco and Meraki (switches, firewall, wireless, Identity Services Engine), Palo Alto Firewalls, SD‑WAN, public cloud design, load balancing and WAF, network monitoring tools, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF). Preferred experience with DevNet topics, Ansible, Python, Azure networking and security concepts (AZ‑700), enterprise applications and conditional access, traffic manager and load balancing, route‑based VPN with BGP. Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure, routing and routed protocols, and standards. Experience in recommending solutions based on analysis of network performance. Exceptional interpersonal skills including negotiation, coaching, team building, positive attitude, and flexibility. Full bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both languages, verbally and in writing, is essential. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Work is performed in a temperature‑controlled office environment. The incumbent sits at a desk during regularly scheduled work hours, uses a standard telephone, types on a standard keyboard, and reads and comprehends information from a computer terminal and/or written resources. On‑call 24/7; may be required to work beyond normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet customer requirements. Some overnight travel may be required.
