Cost Manager Assistant Position at Turner & Townsend
Are you ready to take on the challenge of working with a Cost Manager on commercial aspects of various projects across different sectors? We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for providing support and assistance in managing budgets and controlling project costs. Your role will involve active participation during estimation phases, procurement processes, and change control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing estimations during all design phases.
- Monitoring, controlling, and preparing valuations.
- Participating in value engineering sessions.
- Analyzing change orders.
- Developing project budgets.
- Establishing progress measurement criteria with vendors.
- Collecting cost market data.
- Supporting the quotation process and addressing queries from service/material providers.
- Producing cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes.
- Quantifying materials and labor for all project phases.
- Preparing cost-benefit analysis.
- Reviewing project budgets post design package issuance by the technical team.
- Collaborating on the recommendation report.
- Participating in weekly project and departmental meetings.
- Issuing weekly progress reports on project costs, including forecasting reimbursable expenses.
Qualifications
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveyor, Engineering, Architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Knowledge of project components and construction costs.
- Ability to analyze and interpret project documentation.
- Proficiency in various IT packages, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and commercially aware.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Positive attitude and team player mentality.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Interest in personal development and staying updated with industry knowledge.
Desirable:
- Working towards RICS membership or recently chartered.
- Familiarity with quantity surveying aspects.
- Experience with software systems such as CostX, CATO, BIM Measure.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and AutoCAD.
- Fluency in English.
