Continuous Improvement Manager - New Health Care Company


3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets.

This new Health Care Company will be a leading global diversified health technology company with:

We expect the creation of the two companies will be completed by the end of 2023. For now, we will continue to operate as one global company. This role is positioned to drive the success of the "New Health Care Company".

The Impact You'll Make in this Role


The person hired for the position of Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM) will use tools and methodologies to enhance our business and financial performance by systematically responding to customer needs, improving portfolio mix, growing market share, impacting pricing policies, and other important business levers to drive growth and overall operational excellence.

CIM will lead and collaborate on high visibility business projects for HCBG.


As a CI Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.


Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading and supporting projects that have high impact on business results Directly supporting Continuous Improvement culture change activities
  • Consistently seeking, sharing, and implementing best practices
  • Teaching, mentoring and coaching Everyday Problem Solvers (fka Green Belts)
  • Looking for applicability of tools and methods to areas outside of current focus
  • Lead the hopper process in support of Process Owners and Champions
  • Communicating progress to Champions, Leadership Teams and CI Director Establishing control plans and monitoring appropriate metrics to validate project results are achieved, track improvements, and sustain gains
  • Influencing the organization crossfunctionally and leading management of change activities
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a business, finance, marketing, or operations discipline from an accredited university.
  • Combined experience in marketing, sales, finance, business development, quality, manufacturing and/or supply chain operations in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Advanced english proficiency
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • High Potential Code in your current or recent Employee Performance Review
  • Prior experience as a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Continuous Improvement professional.
  • Prior experience participating in Green Belt Projects and/or Green Belt Certification
  • Demonstration of Cultural Elements
  • Effective facilitation, communication and teaching skills
  • Excellence and data analysis skills.
