About the teamEvery month millions of shoppers use the Zillow app to search, discover, and get their next home which the App Platform team’s tools & services enable. This team owns the foundational architecture, services, and tools that power Zillow’s mobile apps and is responsible for scaling native app development for iOS and Android across Zillow by improving the development processes, tools, and resources. We empower feature development teams to own their experiences on all platforms while maintaining the best in class native apps. The team is responsible for moving a technology through evaluation to maturity and acts as the primary point of contact to answer questions about a technology related to native app platforms.
We’re looking for a highly technical, developer-focused product manager with a Platform as a Product mentality to help set the direction of our App tools, services, and strategy to improve Zillow app developer experience. This role is an excellent opportunity to drive significant impact for someone who has worked in a product role with developers as a direct customer or has an engineering background and wants to transition into a formal product management role.

About the role

You have a proven record in tackling end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering platform capabilities in a fast-paced and rapidly growing business environment.

• Develop and manage deployment, evolution, and developer support plans for mobile app platform offerings.

• Help develop new metrics based on customer developer experience data and use the four DORA metrics and other SDO metrics to make prioritization decisions and communicate impact.

• Identify what truly matters and find ways to deliver value quickly by building a deep understanding of our customers through surveys, product analytics, and shadowing customers.

• Champion our new app APIs, tools & services, and the value they offer, with engineering teams across Zillow Group.

• Drive scalability of build system and CI/CD pipeline, documentation, and automated release process.

• Ser defensor de nuestras nuevas API de aplicaciones, herramientas y servicios, y del valor que ofrecen, con los equipos de ingeniería en todo el Grupo Zillow.

• Impulsar la escalabilidad del sistema de compilación y la canalización CI/CD, la documentación y el proceso de lanzamiento automatizado.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• 5+ years in a product or program management role.

• Deeply Technical. Experience with CI/CD (pipeline layouts, package/artifact management, cloud compute infrastructure, security, and IAM), and mobile engineering tools and patterns such as dependency injection, composition, declarative design and contract testing are crucial to enabling large, distributed mobile teams to build at scale. You’re comfortable writing technical specifications as needed.

• Familiarity with growing operational maturity across mobile app teams and supporting this growth through adoption of modern mobile development practices and tools and architectural ‘building blocks’

• Platform as a Product approach. You understand developers are your primary customer and you’re passionate about abstracting problems that improve their experience and agility.

• Highly Analytical. You use data to make decisions and are comfortable assembling it yourself or working with others.

• Product Owner. You know how to take ideas, define products, work with partners, and ship features.

• Outcome-Oriented. You are able to cut to the core of a problem, identify what needs to be done and when, and work with the development team to get solutions shipped.

• Experience defining projects, driving requirements, writing functional specs and coordinating projects across multiple teams and organizations.

• Strong written and oral interpersonal skills in English and Spanish..

• Conocimiento sobre el aumento de la madurez operativa en los equipos de aplicaciones móviles y apoyo a este crecimiento mediante la adopción de prácticas y herramientas modernas de desarrollo móvil y 'bloques de construcción' arquitectónicos.

• Enfoque Plataforma como Producto. Entiendes que los desarrolladores son tu cliente principal y te apasiona abstraer problemas que mejoren su experiencia y agilidad.

• Altamente Analítico/a. Utilizas datos para tomar decisiones y te sientes cómodo/a recopilándolos tú mismo/a o trabajando con otros/as.

• Dueño/a de Producto. Sabes cómo tomar ideas, definir productos, trabajar con socios y lanzar funciones.

• Orientado/a a Resultados. Eres capaz de ir al núcleo de un problema, identificar lo que necesita hacerse y cuándo, y trabajar con el equipo de desarrollo para implementar soluciones.

• Experiencia en la definición de proyectos, impulso de requisitos, redacción de especificaciones funcionales y coordinación de proyectos entre varios equipos y organizaciones.

• Fuertes habilidades interpersonales escritas y orales en Inglés y Español.
