Data Center Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

As a skilled professional, you will undertake tasks that require sound judgment. Your focus will involve tasks that demand skilled judgment and a deep understanding of standard procedures. You will play a vital role in supporting the team.

Responsibilities

  • Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance
    • Performs specialized preventative and corrective maintenance on critical facility components and systems.
    • Carries out repairs, maintenance, installations, and on-site inspections to critical facility systems.
    • Monitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves alarms for specialized issues, following standard procedures and making recommendations for solutions.
    • Operates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and life-safety systems.
    • Implements energy efficiency measures.
    • Assists team members in coordinating critical infrastructures.
    • Undertakes assignments requiring judgment and initiative, understanding the implications of work and making recommendations for solutions.
  • Vendor Support
    • Coordinates and directs vendors for skilled tasks to ensure maintenance activities meet standards and requirements.
    • Assists in creating and submitting maintenance scripts.
    • Tracks and manages the work approval process for service providers, ensuring proper control throughout the maintenance process.
    • Collaborates with vendors to update technical files for plants and equipment to maintain accuracy.
  • Site Administration & Incident Support
    • Performs specialized site logs and gathers data for issuing permits like Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts.
    • Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and suggests solutions.
    • Responds to on-site incidents, including failures, significant problems, and delays.
    • Conducts Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provides recommendations for solutions.
    • Supports on-site staff during incidents and ensures adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Work Orders & Additional Projects
    • Completes work requests and circuit installations.
    • Undertakes troubleshooting and maintenance of office equipment, supporting problem-solving and repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Makes changes to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems as needed.
    • Executes complex infrastructure projects and supports lifecycle maintenance and critical replacements.
    • May provide recommendations for infrastructure projects.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborates with peers to resolve complex facility incidents.
    • Mentors team members on maintenance activities when necessary.
    • Communicates inventory needs to stakeholders to maintain stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
    • Acts as a mentor in resolving incidents within the team.

Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience
· High School Diploma
