As the first BI Manager at Paystand, you'll be instrumental in building a data-centric culture. Starting as a key individual contributor, you'll evolve into leading a specialized BI team. Your mission will be to strategize and execute BI projects, ensuring the integrity of operational data, and leveraging insights to drive revenue growth and enhance customer experiences across the Fintech landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the BI strategy, ensuring alignment with Paystand's mission to redefine the financial industry.
  • Data Management & Analytics: Oversee the management of critical data sets, ensuring data integrity and leveraging advanced analytics to provide actionable insights for revenue generation and operational efficiency.
  • Revenue Growth: Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities and strategies for revenue acceleration, aligning BI initiatives with Paystand's financial goals.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with teams across Paystand, including Customer Experience and Operations, to optimize the customer journey and drive business success.
  • Implement Actionable Insight Systems: Spearheaded the development of automated, real-time systems that transform data insights into actionable tasks across various departments, enabling teams to respond and drive business expansion and customer engagement swiftly.
  • Data Accuracy and Consistency: Take charge of data quality management and governance, developing and applying rigorous standards to guarantee data integrity across all operational platforms and tools.
  • Reporting & Decision Support: Deliver comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide insights into business performance, customer behavior, and revenue opportunities.
  • Team Building: Lead the recruitment and development of a BI team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Actively engage with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure BI initiatives are closely aligned with business objectives.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing innovation within the BI function, exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Training and Empowerment: Develop training programs to enhance data literacy across the company, empowering employees to effectively utilize BI tools and make data-informed decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge of data architecture, analytics, and BI tools, with a strong focus on delivering business results.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in BI or Data Science within the fintech or financial services industry, with a proven track record in revenue growth through data-driven strategies.
  • Strong command of SQL or similar data querying languages, with extensive experience in writing complex queries to extract, analyze, and manipulate data from various sources.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor a high-performing team.

Big plus:

  • Previous experience thriving in the dynamic, fast-paced environment of a startup, demonstrating agility and the ability to adapt to rapid changes
  • Experience working in finance or accounts receivable
  • Working knowledge of Customer Success tools like GainSight and Totango
  • Working knowledge of CRMs (preferably Hubspot)
  • Prior experience working in Metabase
  • Experience using Netsuite
