Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. is a publicly traded global logistics company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. with over 19,000 employees working at over 300 locations across six continents.We offer a full suite of logistics services, including air and ocean freight consolidation and forwarding, trucking, customs brokerage, order management, warehousing and distribution, and other customized, technology-based logistics solutions.At Expeditors, our employees are our greatest asset and the key to providing the best-in-class customer service that our organization is known for throughout the industry.Job DescriptionNote: Applications must be in English.Expeditors is seeking a motivated and well-qualified attorney with three (3) to five (5) years of experience practicing law in a law firm or the corporate legal department of a global corporation to support both the Transactions and Real Estate/Global Sourcing practice groups.The position will assist with complex legal matters, advising Expeditors' internal clients on legal implications and risk exposures involved in commercial transactions and real estate and procurement-related matters across multiple geographies.As a Commercial Contracts Attorney, you will support the global Legal Department in representing the company's best interests in transactions matters; interactions with commercial customers, landlords, vendors, and service providers; contract negotiations; and other opportunities.Day-to-day, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial service contracts and other commercial documents, confidentiality agreements, lease agreements, construction agreements, equipment leases, equipment purchase agreements, consulting agreements, and information technology-related license documents.In addition, the position will provide routine support on bankruptcy matters, secured credit issues, corporate entity management, litigation management and other general legal questions from various business teams globally.A successful candidate must be able to effectively manage multiple matters with different priorities at the same time.QualificationsA successful candidate will have:A law degree and a professional license/authorization to practice law in Mexico in good standing.Fluency in both English and in Spanish is required.Nearly all written communications are conducted in English.Professional level competency in Portuguese is preferred but not required.Previous experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry (preferred but not required).Strong experience in real estate and commercial law.Contract drafting and negotiation experience.The ability to identify, analyze, assess, and communicate legal risks to enable internal clients to make quality, risk-adjusted business decisions.Impeccable integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness and an appropriate initiative and work ethic.The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.Effective written and oral communication skills.Excellent judgment and common sense.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.LocationThe position will be based in Expeditors' office located in Mexico City.Additional InformationA successful candidate must pass Expeditors' pre-employment background check.Expeditors offers excellent benefits.Expeditors is fully committed to the importance of diversity within the legal profession as an Equal Opportunity Employer.We strongly encourage the interest of diverse candidates in the company.#J-*****-Ljbffr
