At UEI you will be part of a world class team that is working to innovate and revolutionize the meaning of 'wireless control'.Whether it's via chips, software licenses or turnkey products, we are continuing to reinvent how consumers interact with devices and services in their home.Each day we make the connected home, smarter, easier to connect and use, and way more sustainable.We delight our Fortune 100 customers such as Comcast, Apple, Samsung, Google, Vivint and Daikin with ground breaking wireless technology solutions such as advanced, voice-enabled remote controls, cloud control solutions, extreme low power Bluetooth silicon with energy harvesting capabilities, smart thermostats and sensors and many other IoT solutions.**Description**The Indirect buyer is responsible to support the execution of sourcing strategies in America, including Mexico, US and Canadas.Developing and maintaining the supply base considering six pillars:a) Cost effective,b) Fulfillment - delivery on time,c) Quality,d) Engineering support,e) Innovation,d) Risk management.Main objective is to maintain all sourcing records updated: Savings, contracts, supplier classification, QBRs, PPVS record, Supplier contact list, risk mitigation plans, % of supplier localization, on time payment supplier condition.Plus support activities (tactical) for service, indirect and direct categories.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**The duties listed below are intended only as examples of the various types of work that may be performed.The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class.- Support of execution of purchasing strategies- Reports analysis of all supply base in America maintaining records of spend, saving, PPV's, contracts, audits, QBRS.- Monthly updates on the BBSC for America sourcing, service, indirect and direct categories- Direct communication with finance to understand monthly basis the key impacts of PPVs generated, so can communicate effectively to the sourcing group to take appropriate actions- Maintain records updated for our supplier's master file and communicate effectively to the group when next QBRs, audits, contract negotiations, and key factors needs to happen to have a well communicate supply base list- Maintain in a monthly basis all records to fulfill our business balance scorecard for whole America- Support indirect and direct categories in regards potential NPI localization projects, acting as support buyer who will interact with production, quality, engineering, warehouse to make sure time frame will be accomplish properly according to plans- Participate in cross functional teams and / or similar for the accomplishments of related goals- Effectively communicate both verbally and writing, in English and Spanish- Conducts following UEI's rules of ethics and compliance- Support to perform Quarterly Business Review together with Sr Sourcing Leader, Senior Buyer and with key suppliers, establishing effective communication among supply base.- Support of execution actions to mitigate risk at supply based according to Risk Management Strategies- Support to execute P.O.s according to manufacturing / business demand and according to requisitions made- Review Past Due Invoice reports to highlight potential issues before have a credit on hold from supply base- Support Sr.Sourcing Leader to make supplier performance review based on a Rapid Plant Assessment tool**Responsibilities for Integral management system**To actively participate on Integral management system audits.**Formal Education & Certification**- BS/MS (preferred) in an Engineering discipline preferred, other areas of study may be considered*****Knowledge & Experience**College DegreeMechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related,conversational English skills.Master's degree is a plus.Diplomas or trainings in Negotiation/Sourcing strategies is required.7-10 years in strategic sourcing / purchasing (direct materials).Senior level.Negotiations experience with different levels of spend in a supply base.Universal Electronics Inc.
