Join the Discovery family, where quality and service are at the heart of everything we doThis role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s location; El Dorado Golf and Beach Club, set at Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, México.We are seeking a Human Resources Director to join El Dorado private golf and beach club community.BASIC FUNCTIONS:The Human Resources Director drives the full talent journey, from recruitment and onboarding to performance, development, compensation, and labor relations. Serving as a strategic partner to the executive team, this role ensures compliance, designs people-focused policies, oversees benefits, manages union negotiations and global mobility, and promotes a culture of collaboration, recognition, and engagement. By aligning HR strategy with business goals, the Director empowers employees, strengthens teamwork, and enables organizational excellence.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:Leads the overall human resources strategy, ensuring effective talent acquisition, onboarding, development, retention, and employee engagement.Manages personnel operations including recruitment, orientation, training, performance evaluation, progressive discipline, and, when necessary, termination of employment.Provides strategic advice and support on human resources matters to senior management, leaders, and staff.Designs, updates, and communications policies, procedures, and job descriptions, ensuring alignment with organizational values and consistent application.Ensures compliance with labor legislation and advises management on required actions in response to regulatory changes.Oversees compensation plans and employee benefits, guaranteeing accuracy, fairness, and fiscal compliance.Develops and manages the human resources department budget.Administers health, wellness, and insurance programs at both national and international levels.Coordinates immigration procedures and international mobility programs.Maintains union relations and leads collective bargaining negotiationsPromotes a recognition-driven organizational culture, implementing initiatives that enhance employee experience and commitment.Organizes corporate events and employee activities that strengthen integration, motivation, and engagement.Implements performance management systems and succession planning to drive continuous talent development.Stays current through professional training, conferences, and participation in industry associations.Supports the implementation of corporate programs and initiatives, aligning HR practices with business objectives.Oversees organizational climate and culture assessments, using surveys and diagnostics to design action plans that improve satisfaction and commitment.Leads internal communication strategies, ensuring clear, consistent messaging aligned with the company’s vision and values.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Psychology, Organizational Communication, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 5 years leading a Human Resources department, with at least 12 years of progressive HR leadership experience.Strong expertise in Mexican labor legislation and compliance.Billingual; excellent proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.Professional development in the field, including participation in industry conferences and associations.PREFERRED SKILLSStrategic leadership and team mobilizationClear, persuasive executive communication (oral and written)Agile, decisive problem-solvingResults orientationAbility to manage multiple prioritiesCollaborative influence across all organizational levelProactive innovation and continuous improvementOrganizational adaptability in multicultural environmentsBuilding genuine, trust-based relationships with staffTeamworkProactivity, autonomy, and initiativeConfidential handling of sensitive informationABOUT USEl Dorado Golf & Beach Club is an exclusive, private golf and beach community set across a mile of stunning coastline along Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.
