About the Role Grade Level: 09 Associate Price Reporter – Ferrous Metals The Team The Mexico metals team is an integral part of the larger Americas team covering ferrous and nonferrous metals that values teamwork and decision‑making abilities. This Mexico City‑based role involves price assessments and reporting for Latin America steel and scrap benchmarks, and supports US ferrous coverage. Responsibilities and Impact The Associate Price Reporter, Ferrous Metals, will be responsible for real‑time price assessments that are key ingredients in steelmaking. The market reporter will gather, test and publish price information, understand supply‑demand fundamentals from daily interactions with primary market participants, conduct price assessments using established methodology, contribute to its development, and write insightful market commentaries and news pieces. Based in S&P Global Energy’s Mexico City office, the successful candidate will possess strong market intelligence skills, be comfortable writing about pricing information, interpret data, and be a subject‑matter expert in the industry. The candidate must understand the relationship between physical and derivatives markets for metals, report on the Mexico ferrous market daily, generate price assessments, commentaries and news stories, and engage with market participants across the region through in‑person and virtual presentations.
