Job Description:

As a Plant Director for Juarez, Mexico, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  2. Overseeing plant environment, health, safety, regulatory and security practices that respect our environment, meet requirements established by regulatory bodies, protect our employees, and align with company expectations.
  3. Leading operational excellence through conscientious management and decisive actions in environment, health, safety, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, cost, and employee relations.
  4. Utilizing operational financial acumen to analyze and understand the financial implications of various choices and actions, making informed decisions based on financial data to maximize profits and minimize losses.
  5. Understanding and applying technology platform fundamentals and principles, thinking strategically, and identifying opportunities to leverage technology for business growth and operational efficiency.
  6. Accelerating value creation for our customers through responsive end-to-end supply chain performance and prompt resolution to customer inquiries.
  7. Developing strategic plans and budgets to drive continuous and sustainable improvements through the application of disruptive technology, lean six sigma methods, and effective employee engagement programs.
  8. Managing inventory and influencing supplier performance.
  9. Championing inclusive programs that create a great place to work for all our employees and demonstrating behavior aligned with a work environment in which employees, consultants, and contract workers know that ethical and legal behavior is always expected of them.

Your Skills and Expertise:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  2. Ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing or production facility in private, public, government, or military environment.
  3. Five (5) years of experience in a plant leadership role.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  1. Proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to quickly learn and improve Spanish language if necessary.
  2. Proven experience in plant leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to drive operational excellence and achieve results.
  3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  5. Demonstrated ability to anticipate future trends, effectively prepare for change, create and communicate change action plans, and implement sustainable change.
  6. Strategic mindset and the ability to develop and execute plans to meet operational goals.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  8. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  9. Bachelor's degree in physical sciences, Operations Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  10. Experience in proven continuous improvement process improvement methodologies.
