**Purpose**
- Lead the Engineering department in a site with complex industrial process with the objective to deliver investment projects.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Strategy design and execution_
- Provide input to the local Operations business plan and related objectives with regards to e.g.
engineering projects, production capacity, changes in equipment, etc.
- Define Site Engineering annual targets and objectives based on functional strategy and leads and monitors their achievement.
- Function management_
- Lead a number of Engineering team, as well as contractors, working on different projects within production, supply chain, safety and environmental fields.
- Work with Global and Regional Engineering functions to ensure proper analysis, planning and implementation of global strategies, plans or best practises.
- Establish site master plans to capture all Capex, (engineering and maintenance) plans and lead their execution to address internal customer requirements in the short, mid and long term.
- Provide input to global or regional Capex initiatives to anticipate impact on local activities and resources.
- Identify, propose and implement local Capex projects (when approved).
- Manage all routine engineering activities, track progress against plan(s) and implement corrective actions in case of deviation.
- Deliver best in class engineering service to clients through local projects and coordinate capital investments on site.
- Maintain compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards, as well as harmonization of standards within the departments.
- Implement Group Engineering initiatives, guidelines and directives and organize regular trainings to ensure adherence to these as well as other guidelines/directives/standards (e.g.
EHS).
- Maintain contact to local authorities.
- Propose budgets and levels of service for engineering activities and execute these within approved limit(s).
- People management_
- Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes for the local Engineering team and validate related results.
- Work with local Operations and regional/global E&M management teams and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline for the function.
- Drive the development and promotion of talents within and outside the function.
- Coach the team and bring technical expertise.
**Academic Background**
- University degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics related discipline).
**Professional Experience**
- Overall work experience of 7 to 10 years in manufacturing or plant operations, including exposure to factory engineering and maintenance strategy and operational maintenance of production equipment.
- 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in people management.
- Experience in working with diverse cultures.
- Experience in working in matrix organizations incl CoEs.
**Technical Skills**
- Proficiency in complex industrialization and engineering projects including building, process installation and utilities, from design stage to hand-over.
- Good knowledge of project management.
- Good knowledge of TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project controlling tools.
- Good knowledge of stakeholder management and communications.
- Good knowledge of process mapping and design.
- Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
- Good knowledge of financial concepts (e.g.
OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g.
SAP).
