**Real Estate Joint Venture (“JV”) Fund Staff Accountant**

Atlas Real Estate
- Remote (Looking to hire specifically in Mexico City, Queretaro, or Guadalajara)

**Description**

The Staff Accountant will interface closely with the JV CFO, Senior Property Accountant, Director of Acquisitions, and Property Management. The position will assist in preparing journal entries and financial reporting to lenders and investors. This role reports directly to the JV Fund senior accountant position with a dotted line to the JV CFO.

**Responsibilities**
- Monthly/quarterly/annual financial close of the Fund
- Record acquisition and disposition of investment properties
- Accounts Payable including interfacing with third party vendors when necessary
- Debt draw, interest payments and reporting to lenders
- Property tax accruals, tracking and payment
- Cash and Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Assist in the cash management process including processing payments and tracking receivables
- Assist with year-end 1099 reporting
- Track short-term leasebacks
- Assist accounts receivable with receiving tenant rent payments and other scheduled payments/refunds from third parties
- Assist in annual audits and provide support to external auditors
- Monitor investor capital accounts
- Maintain reporting and setting up property groups within Appfolio a property management and accounting system
- Maintains and updates Depreciation, Prepaid, & Accrual schedules
- Ad-Hoc accounting and operational requests as needed
- Audit the general ledger and repair any discrepancies
- Run trial balances and review monthly financials

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Previous accounting experience
- Real estate, property and/or fund accounting experience preferred but not required
- Effective communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Commitment to continual learning and growth

Pay: $152.00 - $190.00 per hour
