**Project Summary**:
For the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists (PDP) is a program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). PDP aims to contribute to improving the institutional and operational capacity of governmental and non-governmental actors involved in the protection of human rights defenders and journalists. Through this program, it is intended to support the generation of a safer civic space for the exercise of freedom of expression and the defense of rights. PDP will work through August 2026 and engages with counterparts and allies at the federal and state levels.

**Position Summary**:
The Editorial Grants Correction Consultant will support donor organizations in the correction of style for editorial materials and texts with various purposes, including the dissemination of relevant information for different types of audiences. The Consultant will maintain constant communication with the department responsible for overseeing and managing the contract for the coordination and monitoring of the consultancy work, and ensure an intersectional approach in the development of the consultancy.

**Responsibilities**:

- Correct and review the writing, spelling, style, clarity, and appropriate language usage in documents and materials developed by donor organizations of the project, intended for the target population, with sensitivity to inclusive language and an intersectional approach.
- Send the evidence and documents listed with the requested frequency.
- Provide personalized follow-up to the tasks related to consultancy and attend in-person or virtual meetings convened by PDP for the development of the consultancy.

Por la Protección de Personas Defensoras y Periodistas (PDP) es un programa de la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (USAID). PDP tiene el objetivo de contribuir a mejorar la capacidad institucional y operativa de actores gubernamentales y no gubernamentales involucrados en la protección de las personas defensoras de derechos humanos y periodistas. A través de este programa, se pretende apoyar en la generación de un espacio cívico más seguro para el ejercicio de la libertad de expresión y la defensa de derechos. PDP trabajará hasta agosto de 2026 y realiza actividades con contrapartes y aliados a nível federal y estatal.

**Resumen del Cargo**:
PDP requiere a una persona consultora que apoye a organizaciones donatarias en con la corrección de estilo de materiales editoriales y textos con diversos fines, entre ellos la difusión de información relevante para diferentes tipos de público. La persona consultora se comprometerá a mantener una comunicación constante con el área responsable de vigilar y administrar el “contrato” para la coordinación y seguimiento del trabajo de la consultoría y garantizar la inclusión de la perspectiva de género e intercultural, y enfoque interseccional en el desarrollo de la consultoría.

**Responsabilidades**:

- Corregir y revisar la redacción, ortografía, estilo, claridad y uso adecuado del lenguaje en documentos y materiales desarrollados por organizaciones donatarias del proyecto y destinados a la población objetivo, con sensibilidad a temas de lenguaje incluyente y enfoque interseccional.
- Dar seguimiento personalizado a los trabajos referentes a la consultoría y asistir a las reuniones presenciales o virtuales convocadas por PDP para el desarrollo de la consultoría.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in communication, literature, linguistics, or a related field required.
- Minimum two years of experience in style correction of texts is required.
- Experience in freedom of expression, human rights, and social advocacy issues preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish required.
