About the Role
Guarantee compliance with all standards of the research laboratory and Tequila Specialist, regulatory requirements, certification and compliance with IS0 17025, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000, GPM.
Lead the lab team that plans and develops performance and capabilities to meet scorecard objectives, aligned with Diageo's 2030 vision.
This role is important to assume responsibility for the implementation of the strategy, policy, and research laboratory projects, which promote the development of new products, process improvement, and scientific research of our products, which are identified as a core value of the business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Technical project leader, giving all the support to the laboratory operating teams, to meet Diageo's standards and objectives.
- Responsible for Developing, maintaining, and updating new analytical, chromatographic, and sensory methods to support the research areas, to guarantee accurate and timely decisions with liquids both in the elaboration of new liquids and as sustainability in the production. stability of existing products.
- Participate in daily operational review meetings to provide expert technical analysis of performance and opportunities for improvement, as well as internal and external technical forums to stay current with the emergence of new analytical methods.
- Encourage an innovative mentality to the problems faced and train people to assume ownership of their work methods and processes.
**Requirements**:
- Graduate with a degree in chemical engineering, food chemistry, pharmacobiologist chemist or equivalent.
- 8 years of experience in establishing standards and strategies for the accurate management of a research or quality laboratory.
- Proficient in English and Spanish
- Attention to audits of local and external entities.
- High knowledge of risk quality management techniques and food safety.
- Participation in forums with leaders from various industries with a high level of technical complexity.
- Proficient in manufacturing systems, quality management, and improvement systems (TPM, TQM, HACCP, ISO 9001, GMP, ISO 17025), as well as high knowledge in regulatory processes for regulatory and legal compliance of products.
- Preferred knowledge of the Regulations applicable to the production of tequila and Mezcal and laboratory regulations, as well as the structure and behavior of the agave Tequilana Weber Azul and Magueyes de Mezcal.
