**Typical Duties**:

- Establish and manage product design timing plan.
- Define product design work packages that are required for the project.
- Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and deliveries as defined in the Statement Of Work or other key customer agreements documents.
- Advanced component planning and schedule long lead items.
- Create mitigation plans for slips in timing.
- Manage product design team
- Lead product design team meetings. Some meetings may periodically held in evening or early morning.
- Assign product design tasks to internal Visteon product design resources. Arrange cross-discipline technical reviews as required.
- Ensure effective team communications.

Main interface between the PD team, Manufacturing team, and Program Management. Support the Quality and Purchasing teams as required.
- Main interface with Visteon the Applications or Resident Engineer at the customer location.
- Studies engineering data, arbitrates design tradeoffs.
- Interface with other technical design engineers, technical fellows and team resources throughout Visteon global engineering centers and manufacturing plants.
- Manage engineering deliverables for product development gate reviews, launch readiness reviews, and VEP audits.
- Ensure team is following internal processes. Obtain management deviation approval, if required.
- Document lessons learned from program by phase and feed back to engineering Team to update appropriate engineering documents. Ensure DFMEAs are updated with these lessons.
- Ensure DFMEAs are organized and are updated. Ensure linkage exists between DFMEA, PFMEA, SCIF, and Control Plan.
- Report and track program engineering deliverables per the Measurement and Analysis process.
- Manage product design.
- Document and track all early prototype parts.
- Manage customer Design Change Requests and Proposal Idea Change (PIC) log.
- Handle Supplier Change Requests (SCRs)
- Manage project Risks Issues Opportunities (RIOs).Ensure all product specification non-compliances have approved customer deviations.
- Release components, documents, and end items into Visteon systems.
- Compile design release notes for the product for distribution to all engineering disciplines
- Manage engineering deliverables for quotes (as required).
- Collect and provide Direct Headcount, Engineering Expense, Reimbursements, and F&T data.
- Ensure requirements are clarified.
- Ensure engineering team has the latest specifications.
- Ensure all design constraints and assumptions are communicated with the quote package deliverables.
- Attend/Support Customer meetings.
- Typical Duties
- Perform and/or co-ordinate customer return product failure analysis in lab testing and reporting.
- Resolution and reporting of product design issues - via 8D or other methods.
- Ensure fault analysis is completed and data/resolution is captured appropriately.

- Ensure permanent corrective actions are in place and tested.
- Lead the implementation of TQCM.
- Financial
- Solicit and implement BOM cost reduction ideas to meet/exceed project financial targets.
- Communicate to management when reimbursements are due (parts shipped, services complete) and escalate if not on track.
- Customer Support
- Conduct customer meetings, issue agendas and meeting minutes.
- Manage customer deliverables, documentation and prototypes.
