**Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background and the internship period.

Duties may include:

- Collects, evaluates, interprets and analyses specified statistics and qualitative socio-economic information obtained from a variety of sources and pertaining to development and public economics, with special focus on agricultural development, food security, and rural development, particularly in the ECLAC Mexico sub-region.
- Maintains databases and programmes for database management and organizes nonquantitative information.
- Compiles and analyses the data and other information necessary for the preparation of analytical studies and technical cooperation, with special focus on agricultural development, food security, and rural development.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following

conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree

or equivalent, or higher); or,

(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree

programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- For this internship, studies in the areas of Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Geography, or Social Science with a quantitative focus is desirable.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Spanish is a working language of ECLAC.

For the position advertised, fluency in Spanish and knowledge of English is required.
Knowledge of another official United Nations language would be an asset.

NOTE: ''Fluency'' equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ''Knowledge of'' equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.

The internship is UNPAID. All costs of travel and accommodation, including living expenses, must be covered by the intern or any relevant sponsoring institution.

Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and not publish any reports or papers based on such information except with the explicit authorization of ECLAC.
