We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Reconciliation Specialist
Principal responsibilities
- Monitoring Finance Transformation General Ledger / Deposit System General Ledger and Non - Customer Demand Deposit Accounts to obtain current balances
- Reviewing corresponding transactions pairing off debits and credits based upon matching procedural criteria
- Documenting un matched transactions and researching variances
- Preparing Account Reconciliation Templates to include documentation of the following:
- Account Static Information
- Purpose of account
- Normal Clearing Times based on type and risk of account
- Balance substantiation information including any relevant financial statement, Ledger information and any documentation which supports the ledger balance
- Aging Schedule including number of items by aging category and Appropriately document action plan to clear variances
- Adhering to all Operational Controls ensuring Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators are met; ensure any exceptions are escalated to management as appropriate
- Communicating to responsible businesses, functions and stakeholders all financial breaks as per the documented escalation procedure
- Escalating to management any reconciliation risks/issues which may need senior management support to remediate
- Maintaining required reconciliation documentation to provide proper evidence of completed reconciliations for risk and audit reviews as required.
- Acquiring knowledge of the End to End process impacting the reconciliation to assist in timely clearing of variances
Supporting monthly accounting reconciliation certifications, monitoring aging entries in the suspense account, reviewing exceptions, and appropriately resolving the same. A critical component of the role is to support management in monthly Assure net signoffs and escalation of aged entries as per the FIM/escalation matrix
**Requirements**:
Calificaciones - Externas
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/Commerce with excellent communication skills
- 3 - 6 Years of progressive financial accounting experience in completion of Bank and Nostro Reconciliations.
- Ability to learn quickly, transfer knowledge appropriately, understand and interpret customer needs.
- Evidence of good decision making and analytical skills.
- Ability to speak and understand English fluently, write business letters and reports, and have good conversational / telephone skills. (E)
