**The Role**
The HR Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the People & Culture function of our new Mexico City operations, with an initial heavy focus on talent acquisition to help us grow our team. As the first HR presence in this location, you will partner with the local site leader to play a key role in establishing SimplePractice as an employer of choice in Mexico City with a thriving culture. You will also be responsible for developing HR processes, policies, and initiatives that align with both local labor laws and the company's global standards. This role will collaborate with the U.S. HR team to support talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and overall people development.
**Responsibilities**
- **HR Operations**: Set up and manage the HR function for the Mexico City office, including payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with Mexican labor laws
- **Talent Acquisition**: Partner with hiring managers and the U.S. Talent acquisition team to identify and recruit top talent. Provide guidance to the local recruiting team. Initially, Talent acquisition will account for up to 50-75% of the job as we look to grow and scale our local team
- **Learning and Development**: Support employee training and professional development initiatives. Assist in identifying development needs and opportunities for the team
- **Establishment of "High Potential Entry Level" (HPEL) program**: Serve as a key contributor and stakeholder for the building out and implementation of a local HPEL program, that will seek to identify, hire, and nurture high potential, entry level talent
- **Employee Relations**: Serve as the main point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries and resolving any workplace issues or conflicts. Foster a positive and inclusive office culture
- **Compliance and Policies**: Ensure compliance with local labor regulations, health and safety standards, and other relevant laws. Develop and implement local HR policies aligned with the company's global framework
- **Culture Champion**: Proactively seek opportunities to foster a healthy and engaging work environment and culture rooted in our SimplePractice values and "One Team" philosophy
- **Performance Management**: Implement and support performance review processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development plans
- **Hybrid Work Management**: Coordinate hybrid work arrangements, ensuring team members have the tools and support they need to work effectively both in the office and remotely
- **HR Metrics and Reporting**: Track key HR metrics, report on workforce trends, and provide insights to leadership to support data-driven decision-making
- **Facilities and Office Support**: Serve as the primary stakeholder to oversee and facilitate smooth facilities operations (i.e. deliveries, food orders, key card management, etc.)
**Desired Skills & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 7+ years of HR experience, preferably in a multinational environment
- 5+ years hand-ons, high volume recruitment experience and end-to-end talent acquisition lifecycle
- Thorough understanding of Mexican labor laws and HR best practices
- Proven experience with employee relations, HR compliance, and business partnership
- Prior experience executing one-off and seasonal employee life-cycle initiatives end-to-end, including annual compensation/merit/salary planning, career framework development, annual engagement survey launch and follow-up, promotion cycles, onboarding/termination processing, leading investigations, workforce planning, performance reviews, talent assessments, and managing organizational changes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with global teams
