Job Title
Payroll Specialist

Position Purpose

Responsible of processing company´s payroll and payroll taxes on a time and accurate basis for a high volume company (Aprox 13,500 employees). Analyzes payroll ensuring proper handling of earnings, deductions, taxes and employee benefits and monitors customer feedback in order to drive change and ensure service excellence. Also, responsible of processing extraordinary payrolls such as Profit Sharing, Saving Funds, Christmas Bonus, Terminations, etc. In addition, supports supervisor and payroll manager reviewing and implementing legislative and regulatory requirements as well as corporate policy reviews for payroll, including but not limited to social contributions, payroll state taxes and e-accounting compliance, and proper recording in accounting books.

Primary Accountabilities
- Responsible of processing the weekly ordinary payroll timely for the AutoZone entity and affiliates (Corporate, Stores, Shared Service, Hubs and Distribution Centers business units). Which includes, but not limited to collecting timesheet data and payroll data (bonus, infonavit, fonacot, food vouchres, special discounts), entering data into the payroll system, calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, etc. Perform validations and comparisons to assure the overall payroll and taxes calculation are accurate. Works closely with the Human Resources department to assure include any extraordinay element or specific deduction (travel expenses, savings bank, cash shortages) to be included in the payroll calculation. The overall process include handling different systems and manual processes.
- Responsible of processing extraordinary payroll such as Profit Sharing, Saving funds, Christmas Bonus, Annual Performance Bonus, Stock Options, Terminations, for the AutoZone entity and affiliates (Corporate, Stores, Shared Services, Hubs and Distribution Centers). Work closely with the Human Resources and IT Finance team, to assure configurations are in place to process the payroll and taxes calculations. Perform validations and comparisons to assure the calculation is accuracy for overall payroll and taxes.
- "Responsible of generating the electronic files for bank cash deposits, payment orders and genarate the CFDI payroll stamping process. Including set up bank accounts in the bank portals for new hires.
- Responsible of setting up alimony in AZ People system and assure the payroll process works correctly with this element."
- Responsible of attending the employees doubts or questions Additionally, clarifies doubt or questions by providing support and service to all internal customer (autozoner) to clarify payroll issues or provides support on process or tramit related with payroll payment, banks, social security, permission, taxes.
- Assists with special projects where payroll or payroll taxes analysis is required. Assists other departments with doubts that arises due to Companies day to day transactions related to the area. Assists supervisor with several transactions. Looks for group opportunities and suggests procedures for processes improvement, and is on continues update

Education & Experience
Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
Area of Study: Accounting
Years of Experience: Five to seven years.
Type of Experience: Payroll, Payroll tax and Social Security experience with preference in shared service centers and retail industry.
Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Experience with ERP (Oracle, SAP), Open HR (GMP) and MS Office
Other / Preferred: Strong internal customer focus and communication skills, detail oriented, analytical and ability to get results through collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. Ability to handle different systems and manual processes.
