**CTS and R&D Manager will**:

- Be actively involved in the customer relationships and provide technical support to beverage and personal care customers
- Co-ordinate and implement filling line trials on customer sites for both bottles & aerosols businesses
- Support the R&D Leader in his region to execute on the innovation project opportunities
- Assume on demand responsibility for Project management of one entire project for the division, being the interface between different functions internally and externally. Define all technical and organisational aspects needed for the internal trials
- Connect with Bev R&D team globally
- Perform Aerosol Cans & bottles Technical drawing
- Technical expertise to support the COE and the production/quality teams ( eg in case of quality claims)

**Essential Responsible Areas**

**New/Modified Ball Products / New customer / New line/New components**:

- Provide technical support to the Sales managers connected with the beverage & aerosols customers
- Along with the relevant people in our division (R&D Director, Innovation& Business Development Director, Central R&D Specialist, Sales team..) and Ball Beverage CTS/Quality team for the bottles, decide what trials are required, filling line trials or test packs, bench tests. Coordinate with the relevant Ball Manufacturing site in order to set appropriate product specification
- Co-ordinate with customers to ensure that for the trials bottles or aerosol cans of the correct quantity/specification are available.
- Co-ordinate and implement filling line trials on customer sites to evaluate new/modified customer products being filled in Ball components
- Report the results of the trial to relevant contacts within Ball
- For the bottles, advise customers the right capper settings to guarantee the performances of the closures
- For bottles or aerosols, advise the customers the right line settings to properly handle our aluminium containers.
- Audit customer filling facilities/warehouses for problems which may result in reduction in filling speed, damage to bottles or aerosols
- Advise customer of findings/recommendations on improvements, supplying costing for work involved, when required

**Bottles/Aerosols development**:

- During the innovation definition, perform the cans/bottles technical drawings to be proposed to the customers
- During the development phases (stage gate 1 to 3) of the new products: carry out trials and analyse data and potential issues.
- Propose some technical solutions to solve the technical issues.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers as needed to get feedback and support
- Validate the bottles/aerosols parameters in terms of filling performances

**Customer Specifications**:

- Along with Ball Group Quality, review any new customer specification for a new product
- Liaise with customer in order to provide a mutually acceptable specification
- When specification is finalised, ensure that it is communicated procedurally within Ball operational team (especially quality managers)

**Bottles quality issues**:

- If required, support the quality team during the review complaint with Ball manufacturing plant and/or customer
- Be able to assist and co-operate with the customer on order to provide a troubleshooting activity and define the root cause of the problem.
- Use of six sigma, statistic basic tools required.

**Key stakeholders**:

- **Internal - **COE, quality, sales managers, Customer service, planning
- ** External - **Customers, Suppliers, Others as needed

**Professional & Education Qualification**
- Engineering or other Technical degree.
- Prior experience in the field of R&D Management, Technical Project Management or Technical Management and preferably in personal care, pharmaceutical or food/beverage packaging industries.

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Microsoft Office products.
- Minitab
- Experience in glass bottles or can filling lines
- Experience in capping process for glass bottles
- Technical Customer Services
- Demonstrate Leadership Behaviours

**Other Requirements**
- Office hours is as per employment contract.
- Must be prepared to work additional hours as required to meet ad hoc demands of the job.
- Must be prepared to travel extensively, sometimes at short notice, as the Business requires.
