**Duties**:

- Serve as a focal point at the US. Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico for matters related to the program of health cooperation and human service policy issues
- Maintain regular and consistent communication with appropriate officials in HHS on programs of health cooperation and human service policy items
- Providing guidance on HHS programs that require cooperation at national and field levels
- Develop and maintain strong linkages and close contacts with officials in the host country's Ministry of Health and other relevant Ministries
- Supervise arrangement for U.S. Government employees, contractors and grantees with special interests in health and human services, public health, and social policy issues who visit the host country
- Participate in the development of new cooperative health, human service, and social policy activities with officials of the Government of the host country
- Support the health objectives outlined in the U.S. Embassy's Integrated Country Strategy, respond to public health threats, work to improve Mexico's disease surveillance and response capacity, and support collaboration between U.S. and host country

**Qualifications**:
**Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification and Selective Placement Factor requirements as noted below.**

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**GS-15**: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the **GS-14 **level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing each of the duties listed below:
- Providing advice on health, social, and human services issues of foreign entities that impact the United States to senior officials, leaders, or staff; and,
- Coordinating public health and social policies between multiple country agencies to ensure cooperative health or human services activities; and,
- Overseeing public health or social services cooperative activities of U.S. stakeholders in a foreign country to ensure bilateral compliance with respect to established policies and U.S. interests.

**Selective Placement Factor (SPF)**:
This position requires a SPF be met in order to meet minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration. Written, spoken, and reading fluency in Spanish is required.
