Carrier Operations Specialist

As a Carrier Operations Specialist, you will be reporting to one of our Senior Carrier Sales Representatives. This position gives you firsthand guidance on learning all the ins and outs of what a carrier sales representative does. You are responsible for seeking out well-rounded carriers who have the capacity to cover lanes that we have available on our live load board. This will go hand in hand with assisting your senior representative in helping lighten their workload. This job is NOT cold calling all day, you are actively seeking available capacity for trucking companies looking to grow their business coinciding with meeting our customer's needs. Carriers are expecting calls, and learning firsthand from a very experienced representative is the quickest and best way to take on this job with a full head of steam, preparing yourself to one day become a Senior Carrier Sales Representative
**Key Successful Components**:
- Book Brokerage Orders:
- Efficiently manage and process book brokerage orders to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of shipments.
- Establish and Maintain Carrier Relationships:
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with carriers to ensure a reliable and efficient transportation network.
- Collaborate with carriers to address issues and optimize service levels.
- Monitor Carrier Compliance to ALS Standards:
- Regularly assess and monitor carrier performance to ensure adherence to ALS standards.
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain high service quality.
- Negotiate Cost/Service Solutions:
- Negotiate with carriers to secure the best cost and service solutions, balancing customer needs and company profitability.
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Participate in RFQ Activity:
- Actively participate in all incoming Request for Quote (RFQ) activities as directed by the Carrier Sales Manager.
- Provide valuable insights and contribute to the development of competitive proposals.
**Qualifications**:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Experience in carrier sales or logistics with a strong understanding of transportaion operations is preffered
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
- Effective Communication and teamwork abilities
