- Bajo supervisión mínima, prepara y realiza varias pruebas dentro de las áreas de responsabilidad donde se requieren conocimientos básicos de los fundamentos científicos y de ingeniería subyacentes. Proporciona información sobre las pruebas y las hojas de datos. Planifica pruebas, evalúa los resultados de estas e informa las opiniones e interpretaciones.
- Examina muestras de pruebas y lee planos, esquemas, diagramas de cableado, instrumentos de medición e instrucciones operativas. Evalúa el rendimiento de las pruebas y revisa los datos de prueba y construcción con el supervisor.
- Construye y/o adapta la configuración del equipo de prueba a nuevas situaciones, basándose en hojas de datos e instrucciones del personal del departamento de ingeniería.
- Opera máquinas y equipos especiales de laboratorio. Realiza la verificación rutinaria de los equipos de prueba designados y del área del laboratorio cuando sea necesario.
- Recibe instrucciones de los ingenieros y del resto del personal del laboratorio. Puede comunicarse con los clientes durante la preparación y la realización de un ensayo para demostrar o ilustrar los métodos de ensayo de los equipos y/o discutir los resultados del ensayo.
- Mantiene comunicación con los colaboradores del laboratorio con el fin de dar seguimiento a ensayos adicionales, muestras, equipos, métodos y/o resultados.
- Registra los datos observados o calculados en los formatos de UL y prepara hojas de datos e informes de ensayo. Puede planificar los ensayos, evaluar los resultados de estos e informar de las opiniones e interpretaciones, según se le indique.
- Integra conceptos y técnicas de mejora continua en todos los aspectos del trabajo.
- Realiza otras tareas según se le indique.
