Strategic Pricing Manager

Key Responsibilities

The Strategic Pricing Manager will be responsible for directing pricing and packaging strategies for Teradata's service offerings, including Support, Consulting, and Managed Services, whether integrated into Cloud solutions or offered as supplementary options.

  • Drive the design and implementation of pricing strategies for Teradata's service portfolio, encompassing cost research, modeling, customer value assessments, and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations.
  • Oversee the execution of comprehensive pricing strategies, ensuring system readiness, effective communication, and team enablement.
  • Establish and maintain flexible and scalable pricing frameworks, which include annual pricing assessments, new product and service introductions, competitive pricing analysis, and adjustments to pricing structures.
  • Lead analytical initiatives to identify opportunities for enhancing profitability in both the short and long term.
  • Guide the transition of the organization from cost-plus pricing to value-based pricing methodologies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and make necessary adjustments.

Collaborative Environment

The successful candidate will work closely with the Services, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to develop and implement comprehensive pricing strategies that optimize revenue and profit margins.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Economics.
  • Over 8 years of experience in developing and executing diverse pricing models and strategies, including as-a-Service (aaS), recurring revenue, and consumption-based pricing within large, complex organizations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the technology sector, with a preference for data warehousing.
  • A strong passion for innovating pricing strategies that yield long-term business impact.
  • Extensive experience in services pricing within Cloud-based companies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to various roles as needed.
  • Comfortable with exploring new ideas and known for thinking creatively.
  • Strong research skills, including both qualitative customer value analysis and quantitative methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in formulating and presenting innovative pricing strategies.
  • Collaborative approach with Finance, Services Management, and Sales Operations teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient presentation skills suitable for CxO engagements.

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with analytics and related technologies to evaluate various pricing hypotheses.
