Position Summary
As a vital member of Zendesk's Pricing and Packaging Team, the Lead Pricing Strategy Analyst is instrumental in influencing the company's revenue generation approach. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Pricing and Packaging, this role collaborates with key stakeholders and offers significant opportunities for professional development.
The analyst will spearhead analytical initiatives to establish pricing for innovative products and service offerings, develop bundling strategies, assess promotional activities, formulate pricing policies, and support deal approval processes through data-driven insights.
We seek an individual with the analytical prowess to extract insights swiftly and the storytelling ability to convey these insights compellingly, driving actionable outcomes. You will play a crucial role in enhancing pricing and packaging strategies, democratizing data access, and conducting comprehensive analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine pricing data, customer demographics, and user interactions to identify pricing opportunities, best practices, and potential enhancements.
- Transform analyses into practical insights that align pricing strategies with organizational goals.
- Design and implement pricing experiments in collaboration with business stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of various pricing models, analyzing results to refine our overarching strategy.
- Work alongside Financial Planning & Analysis to develop pricing models that consider product features, customer lifetime value, market demand, and competitive positioning.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate competitor pricing frameworks, packaging, and market positioning.
- Create regular reports and dashboards that highlight essential pricing metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
- Deliver findings and recommendations to stakeholders across different levels and departments within the organization.
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field such as business analytics, economics, applied mathematics, or statistics.
- 1-2 years of experience in strategy consulting, data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with SaaS subscription billing models.
- Proficient in SQL (experience with Google BigQuery or Snowflake is advantageous).
- Exceptional problem-solving, visualization, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capability to synthesize large datasets and apply analytical frameworks to support business decisions.
- A strong desire for intellectual growth and curiosity, demonstrating self-motivation and a willingness to ask questions.
- Preferred: Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis and mathematical modeling techniques.
- Preferred: Experience with pricing and packaging research methodologies (e.g., Gabor-Granger, Van Westendorp, Conjoint, Max-Diff).
