Job Summary:
The Financial Services Control Specialist is an intermediate level position responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solve complex problems under little to no supervision, utilizing in-depth knowledge of industry standards and practices.
- Analyze situations and data utilizing data analysis tools and methodologies, providing solutions for varied issues that potentially impact the broader business.
- Communicate information clearly and succinctly, appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial services.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Advanced English language skills.
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Advanced degree, Professional Accounting qualification and/or CFA a plus.
- Minimum 3 years related business experience required.
- Experience in Product Control, Internal Control or Audit preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge in accounting fundamentals and ability to deep dive and evaluate large amounts of data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to summarize data to seniors.
- Motivated, organized, and team-oriented.
