Job Title: EH&S Engineer

Corning is a leading technology company that is shaping the future of industries and the world we live in. We are seeking an EH&S Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission of inventing life-changing technologies using materials science.

Job Summary:

The EH&S Engineer will be responsible for developing, administering, and implementing environmental programs in accordance with governmental requirements. This includes monitoring pollution prevention activities, compliance, and auditing efforts. The successful candidate will also conduct studies and prepare environmental impact reports for plant processes and permit changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public, and environmental impact.
  • Interact with federal, state, and local regulators to resolve compliance issues; establish permit requirements and assist in EPA, state, and local regulatory audits.
  • Develop and implement strategic objectives to manage and control occupational hygiene and safety risks.
  • Provide leadership for the development and implementation of safety and health management systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop proactive prevention systems for anticipating and responding to events.
  • Provide expertise, advice, information, and tools relating to effective hygiene and safety management.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as an EH&S Engineer.
  • Knowledge of Mexican safety and hygiene regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Business understanding and involvement.
  • Solid understanding and experience to drive safety or EHS internal and external audits.
  • Experience managing and leading projects.
  • Able to analyze data and create action plans with solid results.
  • Experience setting and managing department objectives.
  • Able to interact at all levels.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
