Job Description

Role Summary:

This entry-level position provides technical support for assigned territory customers, focusing on first call resolution and opportunity forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pricing and quoting for simple configuration requests
  • Engage with customers to understand solution requirements
  • Configure, price, quote, and process requests using entry-level knowledge and tool sets
  • Create and deliver initial solutions to customers, determining lead time and delivery based on product availability
  • Adhere to customer program requirements, utilizing customer contract information to ensure enforcement of terms, freight, inventory, pricing, etc.
  • Use internal resources to resolve or escalate pre-sales issues
  • Follow up on opportunities and monitor pipeline activity to close within the forecast period
  • Contribute to forecast consolidations and participate in planning and reviews for assigned territory customers

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated entry-level working knowledge of product, pricing, customer service, and sales strategy
  • Entry-level working knowledge of simple configuration solutions design, including tools, products, services, practices, procedures, and methods
  • Ability to identify and use appropriate tools to price simple configuration requests
  • Working knowledge of sales and quoting systems
  • Working-level attention to detail and ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks based on identified process requirements
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of distribution industry

Education and Qualifications:

One (1) year of experience in a configuration, sales, or other related role with extensive customer service interface in a technical or product support role within a computer products, system solutions-related distribution business or similar environment. Associate Degree in business, IT, or related field OR an equivalent combination of formal education, training, and directly related job experience. Product/supplier certifications as required.
