About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to join our team at PayPal. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning and delivering end-to-end complex programs, ensuring governance structures and timely execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead planning activities to create a release/program roadmap.
- Proactively manage across stakeholder groups to establish interdependencies, identify risks and resource constraints, and eliminate significant roadblocks.
- Exercise smart decision-making and effectively collaborate with other leaders and stakeholders to address key issues.
- Develop measurable KPIs for the program, aligning them to the overall KPIs for the product.
- Design and manage pilots and beta testing.
- Create and manage clear Gating Criteria with business partners for Go/No-go decisions.
- Ensure regular, active communication with adjacent programs and external stakeholders.
- Identify program impediments and address them, including proper escalation as needed.
- Lead program retrospectives and commitment to improvement.
- Define launch strategy for new product capabilities, including geographic scope and rollouts.
- Advocate and manage program implementation according to PayPal's product lifecycle management.
- Maintain awareness of cross-product/program synergies and communicate opportunities to simplify or better align work across teams.
- Lead effective project/program governance and stakeholder management.
- Assess the current methodology, identify gaps vs. best practices, and continuously improve the process.
Requirements
- Overall 15 years of experience and 8 years in program management.
- Relevant experience organizing multiple teams delivering on software/product development initiatives.
- Successful track record of managing complex development programs.
- Proven ability to develop effective, matrixed, cross-organization relationships.
- Strong technical acumen and voice of the customer across the program delivery lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of project management processes and tools.
- Experience with different software development methodologies, including Agile.
- Success in developing program/project level artifacts to support major software implementation.
- Experience in Payments or Fintech industry is an advantage.
