About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Manager to join our team at Thomson Reuters. As a key member of our Global Procurement team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Sourcing Analysts, developing Category Plans and Sourcing Strategies, and delivering Content sourcing initiatives that achieve best value within acceptable risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Sourcing Analysts, assign and delegate workload, mentor and train, support on project escalation
  • Develop Category Plans and Sourcing Strategies containing a portfolio of key initiatives which deliver the IT Strategy
  • Contribute to the development of the annual pipeline of Content sourcing initiatives, integrating with the financial planning process
  • Instill Global Procurement Methodology, as well as proper use of Procurement Policy across the organization
  • Draft, redline and negotiate supplier contracts within Thomson Reuters's contracting standards and business objectives
  • Rationalize the number of Content suppliers and reduce fragmentation in the spend base in order to simplify the supplier landscape and drive commercial efficiency
  • Provide support and coaching to junior members of the larger Procurement organization
  • Collaborate with Procurement Legal, Risk Oversight Functions, Product and Business stakeholders
  • Build and enhance relationships with strategic Content suppliers to deliver high levels of service whilst maintaining best-in-class commercial terms and conditions

About You

You're a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • At least 5-10+ years of experience in Sourcing including successful development and negotiation of agreements
  • Experience in managing teams of various skill sets; strong leadership capabilities with the ability to train and mentor team as well as delegate workload and support on escalations
  • Proven track record of delivering significant and sustainable cost reductions through effective implementation of a coherent Sourcing strategy
  • Deep understanding of contract terms and contractual language; proven skills and experience in drafting and redlining contracts
  • Good external and internal relationship management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Experienced sourcing practitioner, understanding of best-practice sourcing methodology and a demonstrated track record of working ethically to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Experience of leading negotiations with major suppliers
  • Knowledge of the sourcing marketplace and trends in the industry, as well as regulatory climate, including the ability to assess the impact of change in the context of the sourcing strategy
  • Expert analytics and ability to develop coherent and high-quality sourcing collateral including business cases, contract summaries, presentations, and RFx materials
  • Experience in building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and business executives
