Role Summary

Arbor Lodging Management is seeking a highly skilled Regional Director of Finance to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will collaborate closely with our Vice President of Operations to analyze, monitor, and optimize financial performance across our properties. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in our strategic financial planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  1. Act as a bridge between the VP of Operations and the Accounting Team, fostering communication, collaboration, and a high-performance culture.
  2. Develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives and growth plans, collaborating with corporate and hotel teams on long-term financial planning and annual budgets.
  3. Guide and support General Managers, enhancing communication and talent development across teams.
  4. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and present key reports to the executive team, including P&L statements, budget variances, and forecasts.
  5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies, implementing internal controls to safeguard assets.
  6. Optimize working capital, liquidity, and capital expenditure, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  7. Continuously improve financial systems and reporting capabilities through technology and innovation.
  8. Coordinate and support financial audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of findings.
  9. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
  10. Collaborate with revenue management and operations teams to prepare reliable financial forecasts for effective decision-making.
  11. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including property owners, investors, and lenders, to ensure compliance and effective communication.
  12. Develop and deliver training programs to improve the financial acumen of hotel management and department heads.
  13. Conduct comprehensive financial reviews, analyzing variances from budgets and forecasts, and driving process improvements in partnership with property executives.
  14. Train and coach finance teams and General Managers to ensure accurate fiscal management and reporting across the portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Director of Finance or a similar senior accounting/financial role in the hospitality industry, preferably within a hotel group.

• Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and cash flow analysis.

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), including areas such as AR, AP, Credit and collection, Payroll, and General Ledger.

• Demonstrated success in leading and managing finance teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

• Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.

• Sound understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the hospitality sector.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

• Proficiency in financial software and systems; experience with hotel-specific financial tools (e.g., Fosse, PEP, OnQ, Opera, Micros) is advantageous.

• Flexibility to travel to different hotel locations as needed.
