We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planner to join our team at British American Tobacco. As a Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain by planning and managing the procurement of raw materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet the needs of our factories, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and minimizing inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production planning and procurement teams, to identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and lead times to optimize business processes and improve service levels.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in SAP and rapid response systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs within the supply chain, implementing process improvements and best practices.
  • Work closely with the production planning team to resolve material shortages and ensure minimal impact on factory operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering a collaborative environment to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Support the Purchasing team in resolving supplier billing issues and ensuring timely payment.
  • Highlight and address any serious vendor issues, working with management to resolve them quickly and minimize business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of direct raw material planning experience.
  • Excellent analytical and planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good English proficiency (at least 80%).
  • High knowledge in Excel and experience with SAP and Rapid Response systems (preferably).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
