Ciudad de México, Ciudad de México Lyft A tiempo completo
About Lyft

At Lyft, our mission is to make a positive impact on people's lives by providing the best transportation experience. To achieve this, we strive to create an inclusive and diverse organization that prioritizes the security of our users' personal information and travel details.

We entrust our drivers and passengers with sensitive data, which is why our security team plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our systems. As a Security Engineer at Lyft, you will lead efforts across the company to design and build secure architecture, consult with other teams, proactively plan for unexpected incidents, and respond to security breaches.

The scope of your work will be vast, affecting the entire company and spanning multiple levels of the stack, from infrastructure to web application security, mobile apps, IT, bikes, scooters, and autonomous vehicles. We aim to approach security from a software engineering standpoint, leveraging automation and tooling to scale our security measures and ship frequently.

The Application Security Team Mission

To empower the company to deliver secure products, we provide clear guidance on secure coding practices and implement quality gates across our software delivery pipeline. Our goal is to drive sustainable remediation efforts and identify root causes of security issues.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and validate security issues identified through our Bug Bounty program
  • Collaborate with teams across Lyft to understand, verify, and remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Proactively research new attack vectors that may affect Lyft
  • Use scripting and automation to identify further instances of the same issue and drive resolutions for the underlying issues
  • Test fixes to ensure we get the most value from security reports
  • Provide guidance and best practices for Lyft engineers based on your knowledge of frequent security issues
  • Threat model and code review of features/services
Requirements and Qualifications

We're looking for a highly skilled Security Engineer who possesses a unique blend of technical expertise and communication skills. If you have a background in penetration testing, cloud environments, or mobile (iOS/Android) development, we encourage you to apply. Experience with computer networking concepts, application and network security methodologies, and network security architecture concepts is essential.

We also seek candidates who can effectively communicate complex security information, present findings, and recommendations to leadership. Your ability to learn quickly and navigate complex problems will serve you well in this role. A passion for computer security, ideally in both attacking and defending services, is a must. Estimated salary $150,000 - $200,000 per year.
