Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Passport and Citizenship Team Lead to join our team at the Embassy of the United States in Mexico City. As a key member of our Consular Section, you will oversee the full range of passport and citizenship services for U.S. citizens residing in or traveling in the consular district.

About the Role

This is a permanent position with a competitive salary package that includes private medical and life insurance, U.S. and Mexican holidays, 17 days of vacation per year, affiliation to IMSS, AFORE, and INFONAVIT, and opportunities to travel abroad for training. The estimated annual salary for this position is $73,000.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a team leader supervising three FSN-07 staff members and act as backup consular sub-cashier.
  2. Prepare teamwork plans, train new team members, designate responsibilities, and ensure tasks are completed according to unit processing standards and passport and citizenship regulations.
  3. Responsible for the full range of passport and citizenship services for U.S. citizens residing in or traveling in the consular district.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Experience with data entry and working as part of a team providing a service.
  • Education Requirements: 2 years college or university studies.
Language Skills

The successful candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English. We accept various language proficiency tests, including Stratcomm U.S. Mission to Mexico English Test, TOEIC Listening & Reading, TOEFL ITP, TOEFL IBT, IELTS, Cambridge CEFR, Duolingo, and FSI/ILR.
