As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for negotiating pricing, facilitating purchases, and coordinating all activities required to purchase after-sales parts and accessory commodities for our plants and dealers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and establish commodity prices for production parts, ensuring cost control in accordance with Nissan's cost reduction goals and requirements.
  • Locate suppliers and develop their abilities to meet current and future production parts requirements, ensuring suppliers meet Nissan's goals for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Establish contracts for assigned commodities, maintain purchase orders, and related purchasing records, and maintain files and records of current and potential suppliers, materials, and prices.
  • Coordinate activities between all departments and supplier base to ensure uninterrupted supply of parts and resolution of supply issues and problems.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and maintain cost reduction plans in support of the department's cost reduction goals.
  • Coordinate all functions, procedures, and system-related concerns between Nissan's national and Smyrna offices regarding service, accessory, remanufactured, and key value parts.
  • Locate suppliers and negotiate for the procurement of facilities and MRO purchased items and services related to non-production purchasing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent related college or technical courses, seminars, or in-house classroom training.
  • Commerce/purchasing of direct material previous experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Commodity and market knowledge, commercial and legal regulations knowledge, and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in car parts.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, fully bilingual.
  • MS Office and SAP skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creative approach for generating new ideas, sound knowledge of computer-assisted design (CAD) software, excellent grasp of engineering and design principles, understanding of manufacturing processes, good team working skills, and appreciation of wider business demands and awareness of the environmental impact of design ideas.

Travel: Occasional day or overnight travel may be required.
