Overview of the Position
The Strategic Procurement Lead for Mexico is responsible for orchestrating and guiding both individual and team efforts in Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) initiatives across designated spending categories within the region. This role involves crafting local strategies that align with the broader Regional Procurement framework while adhering to global category directives. The Strategic Procurement Lead actively spearheads procurement projects, defines specifications, and manages demand, in addition to overseeing supplier performance and innovation initiatives across the assigned categories.
Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities pertain to the designated categories, with a primary focus on IT as managed from Mexico:
- Accountable for the successful delivery of procurement initiatives that support business objectives.
- Responsible for achieving annual financial goals.
- Ensures the overall achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Balanced Scorecard targets.
- Oversees the consolidation and effective sharing of vendor, market, category, and internal business data to formulate a Regional Strategy that aligns with global category objectives.
- Monitors compliance and enforces standards on Global Procurement, including Buying Guidance and Vendor Management Guidance.
- Ensures quality processes are in place for efficient service delivery that meets or exceeds business partner expectations.
- Implements and communicates the finalized Regional Strategy in alignment with global category strategies and annual plans to relevant stakeholders.
- Executes vendor management practices in accordance with the Vendor Relationship Management Framework and Global Procurement Services.
- Develops the Procurement Network while fostering effective collaboration across Global Procurement.
- Manages relationships with key business partners.
- Takes ownership of personal career development and performance.
- Ensures that resources, information, and tools are available for project execution, providing project management support as needed.
- Responsible for the creation, application, and review of significant contracts.
- Provides input for the development of an appropriate Playbook.
