Overview of the Position
The Strategic Procurement Lead for Mexico is responsible for orchestrating and guiding both individual and team efforts in the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process across designated spending categories within the specified regions. This role involves formulating local strategies that align with the broader Regional Procurement objectives while ensuring coherence with global Category Strategies. The Strategic Procurement Lead actively spearheads procurement initiatives, defines specifications, and manages demand, while also overseeing supplier performance and innovation activities across the assigned categories.
Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities pertain to the designated categories, with a primary focus on IT as managed from Mexico:
- Accountable for the successful delivery of procurement initiatives that support business objectives.
- Responsible for achieving annual financial performance targets.
- Oversee the overall achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Balanced Scorecard metrics.
- Facilitate the consolidation and effective sharing of vendor, market, category, and internal business intelligence to inform the Regional Strategy in alignment with global Category Strategies.
- Ensure compliance with and enforcement of the Targeted Standards on Global Procurement, along with the relevant Buying and Vendor Management Guidance.
- Deliver quality processes that enable efficient service delivery, meeting or exceeding the expectations of business partners.
- Implement and communicate the finalized Regional Strategy in accordance with global Category Strategies and Annual Plans to pertinent business partners.
- Execute vendor management practices aligned with the Vendor Relationship Management Framework and Global Procurement Services.
- Cultivate the Procurement Network while fostering effective collaboration across Global Procurement.
- Manage relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Take ownership of personal career development, performance, and growth.
- Ensure the availability of resources, information, and tools necessary for project execution, providing project management and implementation support as needed.
- Oversee the creation, application, completion, and review of significant contracts.
- Contribute to the development of an appropriate Playbook.
