About the Role

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our Mexican distribution business unit. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall management of our operations in Mexico, including sales, manufacturing, finance, planning & logistics, quality & technology, HR, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement regional strategic timelines, closely monitor key actions, and participate in the implementation of key initiatives.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, visit them regularly, and understand their requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Continually review inventory stocking programs with customers and sales specialists, adjust replenishment orders as required, and manage late orders.
  • Financial Management: Analyze monthly sales and profit performance, prepare monthly operating summaries, and develop annual operating plans with key managers or the operating committee.
  • Cash Management: Maintain and monitor cash management banking systems, act as lead administrator on e-banking platforms, and work with finance managers to ensure timely month-end closing and accurate financial statements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work with outside legal firms to ensure proper filings for Carpenter Aceros Fortuna's subsidiaries and establish and monitor fixed cost budgets.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 15+ years of senior management experience in the distribution business, preferably in the tool steel, carbon & alloy markets, or other related industries.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak.
  • Skills: Project management, financial management, problem-solving, customer focus, and experience working with broad guidelines.
