Job Title: Inspección de Vía

At CPKC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspección de Vía to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Part 213 (monitoring standards) and protecting the track by implementing corrective measures and promoting safety with our crew through work audits and safety meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of tracks after repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Respond to trouble calls and conduct special visual inspections after adverse weather alerts.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence by applying business requirements and customer focus to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Understand and apply relevant business metrics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness.
  • Identify and address non-compliance issues through one-on-one accountability conversations and coaching.
  • Embody KCS's commitment to being ONE TEAM by promoting a speak-up culture and using communication and interpersonal skills to enhance inclusion and respect.
  • Define and communicate team roles and responsibilities, hold people accountable for objectives, and provide feedback on performance.
  • Develop and retain a strong team of high performers by creating a challenging and rewarding work environment.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations.
  • Valid LFF (Licencia Federal Ferroviaria) for the duration of employment contract with Kansas City Southern.
Working Conditions:
  • Available 24/7/365.
  • Works outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
  • Shift work is an essential function of this job, requiring the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
