Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor, and address legal matters related to the new labor law to maintain a high level of control over contracts, operations, and outsourcing in industrial sites of Mexico.
  • Collaborate with the controlling/finance area to develop and implement local policies to enhance an Internal Control Culture from a legal perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with licenses and governmental permits for the region.
  • Provide proactive and reactive guidance on various legal areas, including commercial, procurement, corporate, manufacturing activities, permits, and licenses.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external parties, such as regulators, external counsel, and public authorities.
  • Clarify legal language or specifications for all organization members.
  • Coordinate and manage specialist outside counsel on specific projects, issues, or litigation.
  • Guarantee the implementation of policies and regulations targeting industrial sites of BIC in Mexico.
  • Deliver training and guidance to the business on applicable legal and compliance rules.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and assist plants with agreements with suppliers, service providers, machinery purchases, and all necessary contracts.

Projects You'll Work On:

  • Contribute to changing the mindset of the legal support, focusing on being more strategic, proactive, and preventive.
  • Bring innovation and process improvements with limited resources.
  • Organize and implement processes.
  • Guarantee the full implementation and ongoing fulfillment of the new labor law, engaging and orienting all areas.
  • Deliver legal recommendations to the business, considering the organization's risk appetite and needs.

Requirements:

  • Lawyer degree and admitted to practice in Mexico.
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills.
  • Experience in plants.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years.
  • Dealing with contracts, drafting, negotiating, and revising.
  • Conducting matters of contracts, labor law, regulatory, tax.
  • Desirable experience in multinational companies.
  • Experience with international reports.
  • Ability to draft, implement, train, and advise on compliance matters, policies, and local requirements.
  • Good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
  • Strong integrity and business ethics.
  • A collaborative attitude, building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility, as well as the ability to work effectively in global cross-cultural and cross-functional teams.
