Job Summary

The Patient Advocacy Lead - Strategic Engagement will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated patient advocacy strategy for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and other rare diseases. This role will build and deepen relationships with key external stakeholders, drive Biogen's position through active engagement at community events, medical congresses, and patient conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement patient advocacy strategies to support Biogen's business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, and industry partners
  • Drive Biogen's position through active engagement at community events, medical congresses, and patient conferences
  • Liaise with global public affairs and patient advocacy teams to bring international best practices to the affiliate
  • Develop local procedures and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory norms
  • Provide strategic counsel and execute on patient advocacy engagement plans, working cross-functionally with PSP, Medical, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, Communications, and Commercial teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in advocacy roles, communications, or corporate affairs, with a focus on internal and external communications in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of patient access environment and healthcare systems
  • Understanding of rare disease patient environment
  • English Advanced is a requirement as business language; any other language is a great asset
  • Hybrid work arrangement, with 3 days per week at the office
